EATINGA New Zealand delicacy, Whitebait is the name given to 5 juvenile species of freshwater fish. They are caught seasonally between August and November, on their way back to freshwater from their hatching grounds at sea. Whitebait have a super delicate flavour that is easily overpowered. Keep it simple when cooking them. We suggest lightly flouring and frying them or preparing them classic Kiwi-style as a fritter - we have a great method in our recipe section here on the website.

We currently sell our Whitebait in 4 x 250g bag lots, to help prevent it from defrosting in transit (you can purchase single bags in our stores in Dunedin and Queenstown). Purchases are limited to one per customer. If you are interested in purchasing a larger quantity, please submit a product enquiry form.

QUEENSTOWN LAKES (INCL CROMWELL & WANAKA)
Queenstown and Arrowtown (including Jack’s Point) delivery $6, Tue – Fri.
Wanaka and Cromwell (including Albert Town) delivery $8.50, Tue – Fri.
